Kin Wai Lau
CEO, Fatfish Internet Group Limited (ASX: FFG)

Kin-Wai is one of the very few serial tech entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia that enjoy multiple successes. Since founding his first company at the age of 23, Kin-Wai has an intriguing track- record of building successful companies across Internet media, software, and biotech.

Kin-Wai was named by the media as one of the youngest ever MDs of publicly traded firms in Southeast Asia when he IPO’d his first company, Viztel Solutions Berhad, at the age of 28 on Bursa Malaysia. He has to date built 5 tech companies with 4 of them being listed on major stock exchanges in the region.

Recently, Kin Wai founded the Fatfish Internet Group, a Singapore-headquartered regional venture builder and accelerator that focusses on building Internet businesses in Southeast Asia and Australia. Fatfish is among the first of its kind to be listed on the Australian Securities Exchange.

Kin-Wai graduated first class in engineering from the University of Manchester, UK. He was a faculty member and Ph.D. candidate at the Imperial College London. Kin-Wai attended the Said Business School at the University of Oxford for his MBA degree.

Ronnie Wee
Founder and Managing Partner, IncuVest

Ronnie is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and mentor. He has extensive experience in consulting, entrepreneurship, mentorship, building and growing successful global tech startups.

Ronnie looks at tech startups in Asia. IncuVest counts the National Research Foundation (NRF), part of the Prime Minister’s office, as one of its co-investors. IncuVest focuses on startups in cloud computing, big data analytics, and robotics.

IncuVest has invested in close to 20 startups in the past four years. More than half have already raised their subsequent funding.

Ronnie also co-founded Ecosys Ventures, together with Michael Tay, former Singapore Ambassador to Russia, Executive Director of Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) and ED of Russia Singapore Business Forum (RSBF). Ecosys Ventures is a boutique consulting firm focused on providing consulting and other related services to startups, corporates, and governments.

Before IncuVest, Ronnie was one of the founders and Directors of Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) International; a company started together with the Singapore Government.

Ronnie started a tech software company, PlaNET Technology Solutions, in 1996. PlaNET developed solutions for Banks, Government, Manufacturing, and Telco industries. PlaNET built and sold software solutions and services to clients across Asia and won several innovation awards. PlaNET was acquired by a public-listed technology company in Asia with an estimated 50x return to early investors.

Ronnie then started and advised some startups, helping UK, US, Israeli, and Russian tech companies set up in Singapore and Asia. Of the many startups, Ronnie was involved with, two were sold, and one was listed on NASDAQ.

He also co-founded Sirius Angel Fund, an angel fund; that co-invests with the Singapore Government. One of Sirius’ most notable investments is Reebonz, a successful luxury eCommerce startup which has raised over US$60m in funding to date. Reebonz counts Intel Capital, Temasek, Media Corp, IDA Investments as its later stage investors.

Kevin Lim
Managing Partner, 1823 Ventures

Kevin is an investment banker turned FinTech entrepreneur and start-up mentor and investor. He is currently a managing partner at 1823 Ventures and focuses on early-stage investments in disruptive technologies and above all, execution-driven entrepreneurs.

He was previously a Financial Institution Mergers &Acquisitions banker where he advised on M&A, IPO and capital raising transactions in Europe and Asia. Kevin holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Bristol and is a CFA charter holder.
